Description
We got these at a state of MN surplus equipment auction. These 4 units are USED!
The rain is collected by the 8 inch diameter collector and channeled to a
“
Tipping Bucket” which generates an electronic pulse string which can be sent to a counting device.
These units have an automatic heating device which will extend the temperature range of usefulness.
The state agency that used these installed a “Hobo Event” thingy that sent the pulses by radio waves to something - that created the rain fall record – Somewhere.
We have the Hobo Event Things listed in our store. Or you can buy new.
Or do some good old hard wiring!
The heater requires 120 VAC and 1.6 amps. You can't power that from a Hobo!
These units lost there pipe mounted bottom plate.
Just put in a new mounting plate and pipe, connect 120 VAC to the heater, and connect a pulse counting device to count the dump pulses.
A new unit retails for about 0 from the manufacturer
